Introduction

Adding cloud services to the Altair 8800 emulator is optional, but it does provide some interesting features such as internet weather and pollution data, and the ability to report Altair 8800 telemetry to Azure IoT Central.

You can use the following cloud services with the Altair emulator.

  • Open Weather Map provides planet-scale weather and pollution data services. Open Weather Map provides free access to weather and pollution data.
  • Azure IoT Central is a cloud-based Internet of Things (IoT) application platform. You can report, analyze and export IoT data.

Cloud service access keys​

The following pages will show you how to create resources and keys for each service. You'll need to save configuration settings. Copy and paste these settings to a scratch file using a text editor such as Notepad or TextEdit.
